영국의 4인조 인디/얼터너티프 락 밴드, Bastille의 새로운 신곡.

사실 신곡이라기 보단 다른 밴드의 곡을 리메이크해서 부른거지만

그래도 바스틸을 좋아하는 필자로서 뭐라도 나오니 기분은 정말 좋다.

바스틸이 리메이크한 곡은 미국의 펑크 락 밴드, Green Day의 Basket Case.

펑크 락의 전설로 불려지는 그린데이의 노래를...그것도 바스켓 케이스를 리메이크 하다니!!

원곡은 그야말로 신남 그 자체인데 리메이크 버전은 서정적이고 위압감이 넘친다.

신나고 쾌활한 펑크 락이 멋지고 위엄있는 오케스트라로 바뀌어서 한편으로는 당황스럽기도 하지만

원래부터 오케스트라의 위압적인 사운드를 좋아했던 필자에게는 더할 나위 없이 취향 저격이다.

커버곡이라는 말이 무색할 정도로 자신들만의 스타일로 만들어버린 바스틸의 Basket Case.

오케스트라의 웅장함을 좋아하는 사람들이 마음에 들어할 것 같다.
