영국에서 태어난 인디/신스 팝의 여왕, 엘리 굴딩의 대표적인 노래 중 하나다.

그녀의 두번째 정규 앨범인 Halcyon과 Halcyon Days의 수록곡이며 싱클컷이된 노래이기도 하다.

필자는 그렇게 만히 알고 있진 않지만 어느정도 외국에서 활동하는 팝스타를 알고 있다.

그리고 그 중에소서 필자가 유난히 좋아하는 외국 여가수들이 있는데

그 중 하나가 바로 이 Ellie Goulding이라는 여왕님이시다ㅠㅠ

팝송 좀 들어봤다는 사람이라면 다 아는 유명한 곡이지만 그래도 노래는 올려보도록 하겠다.

장르는 일렉트로니카와 팝이 적절히 섞인 일렉트로팝(Electropop).

필자는 고등학교 1학년 때 이 노래를 알게 되었고,

이 노래 덕분에 엘리 굴딩이라는 가수를 알게 되었다.

그 때 당시는 그냥 멜로디만 좋아서 '어? 괜찮네?'하고 자주 들었지만

시간이 흘러서야 엘리 굴딩의 꿀같은 목소리를 깨닫게 되었다 ㅠㅠ

중독성 있는 멜로디에 놀라고, 힘찬 비트에 두 번 놀라고,

깃털같이 가볍지만 파워있는 목소리에 빠져버리는 마성의 노래.

그 이후로 'Lights', 'I Need Your Love', Madeon과 함께한 'Stay Awake',

그리고 영화 OST지만 존나게 대박친 'Love Me Like You Do'까지..

엘리 굴딩의 노래를 찾아들으며 그렇게 점점 빠져버리게 된 것이다.

물론 Burn은 엘리 굴딩의 노래 중에서 제일 좋아하는 곡은 아니지만

필자에게 '인생 가수'를 알게 해준 고마운 음악이라서 시간이 지나도 여전히 즐겨듣고 있다.
