유명한 앨범 A Head Full of Dreams에 수록된 3번째 트랙을

노르웨이의 음악 프로듀서 그룹, Seeb가 리믹스 하였다.

원곡의 주인공은 당연하게도 영국의 락밴드, 콜드플레이

(장르도 당연히 트로피컬 하우스)

필자는 일레긑로닉 음악을 좋아하는 만큼 락(Rock) 음악도 좋아한다.

락도 일렉틀닉처럼 수많은 세주 장르들로 많이 나뉘어져있지만

필자는 그중에서도 팝락, 브릿팝, 얼터너티브 락을 좋아하고 있는데

Coldplay가 딱 이 장르들에 특화된 밴드라서

개인적으로 많이 애정하고 있는 락 밴드이다.

하지만 가장 최근에 발매된 7집 A Head Full Of Dreams는

이전에 발매되었던 다른 앨범들보다는 못미치는 퀄리티라

필자의 입장에서 봤을 땐 실망감이 조금 컸던 앨범이었다.

물론 이 노래의 원곡인 Hymn For The Weekend는 갠적으로 마음에 들었지만

Seeb가 리믹스를 너무 잘해서 그런지, 아니면 7집에 대란 실망감이 커서 그런건지

필자에게는 원곡보다 리믹스 버전이 훨씬 듣기에 괜찮다고 느낀다.

원곡을 들어보면 되게 멜로디가 슬프고 아련한 분위기가 특징인데

리믹스된 노래에서는 그 분위기가 훨씬 더 도드라진다.

그리고 마침내 하이라이트 부분에서는 그 분위기가 함께

감성돋는 트로피컬 사운드가 펼쳐지는 것이 또 다른 특징이다.

필자는 리믹스 버전에서 이 두가지 특징이 제일 마음에 들었다.

이 노래가 나온 직후 한동안 이것만 들었던 적이 있었는데

그 정도로 중독성이 정말 대단한 노래인 것 같다.
