미국의 일렉트로닉 뮤직 듀오 Grey의 신곡이 나왔다.

최근에 발매한 그들의 새 앨범 'Chameleon'에 수록된 트랙이기도 하다.

참고로 며칠 전에 필자가 포스팅했던 Crime이라는 곡도 이 앨범에 함께 수록되었다.

장르가 살짝 애매하긴 한데 단순히 일렉트로닉 보다는 팝에 가까워서

사실상 '일렉트로팝(Electropop)'이라고 부르는게 더 정확할 것이다.

피처링에 참가한 아티스트가 상당히 막강한데

캐나다의 유명한 싱어송라이터이자 2000년대를 대표했던 Avril Lavigne,

그리고 얼터너티브/인디/팝 락 뮤지션 Anthony Green이 피처링에 참가했다.

안토니 그린은 필자가 모르는 아티스트라서 큰 관심은 없고,

팝-펑크의 여왕인 '에이브릴 라빈'이 피처링을 한 사실이 매우 신기하다.

중학생 시절에 참 좋아했던 가수인데 건강상의 문제로 활동이 뜸해져서...;~;

그래도 이렇게 목소리를 들을 수 있어서 팬으로서는 참 반갑고 기쁘다.

지극히 주관적인 의견이지만 노래 자체는 그다지 취향이 아니다.

일렉트로닉과 락이 혼합된 스타일이라서 독특한 면은 있지만

전체적인 사운드와 멜로디가 필자의 취향과는 거리가 먼 느낌이라 노래 자체는 마음에 들지 않는다.

하지만 두 명의 락(Rock) 뮤지션들이 피처링을 해서 그런지 보컬 면에서는 나름대로 만족하고 있다.

보컬만 좋았던 곡이지만 오랜만에 에이브릴 라빈의 목소리를 들을 수 있어서 나름 만족스러웠다.
