1976년에 결성되어 지금까지 활동하고 있는 아일랜드의 락 밴드, U2와

노르웨이의 DJ 겸 딥/트로피컬 하우스 프로듀서, Kygo가 만난 음악이다.

위에 원곡 영상을 보면 알 수 있듯이 U2의 원곡을 Kygo의 스타일로 적절하게 바꾼 것이다.

락 밴드와 DJ의 조화라니...

비교적 최근에 발매했던 OneRepublic과 Seeb의 Rich Love가 문득 생각난다.

원곡을 들어보면 그냥 전형적인 팝 락이지만

카이고와 함께한 버전은 딥 하우스(Deep House) 느낌이 섞여진 팝송이다.

EDM/일렉트로닉 뮤직을 좋아하기 이전부터 줄곧 팝 락을 좋아했었지만

개인적으로 카이고의 잔잔한 스타일이 들어간 버전이 훨씬 더 끌린다.

카이고 버전은 원곡에서 느낄 수 있는 락의 감성과 더불어

원곡이 가지고 있지 않은 특유의 잔잔한 신스까지 들어가서 한층 더 엣지있는 것 같다.

락이나 일렉트로닉이나 둘 다 좋아하는 장르라서 그런지 귀이득이 두 배가 되는 느낌? :)

락과 일렉트로닉의 절묘한 조화를 좋아한다면 한번 감상해보길 바란다.
